Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress in the film industry, TV and stage since the end of the 1970s. The actress Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been working professionally for the past 27 years. She first made an appearance on stage during an off-Broadway production The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. She was then cast for her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992 she got her breakthrough after being cast in the film Basic Instinct as a minor role. The Firm marked her first part as a female lead actor, playing opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Over the course of the 90s Gwyneth collaborated with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes as well as Julie Andrews for Relative Values. In the past, she played Dr. Alex Blake in the internationally well-known crime procedural Criminal Minds.
